  • Here's an approach that works for me. Design a simple matrix with the essential functions, abilities, educational requirements, abilities and BFOQ's taken from the job description. Use the resume and your interview notes to rate the candidate on a scale of 1 - 5 in each category. Add the score and scientifically determine the best one for the job. Then trash it and hire the one you want anyway.
