Incentive Plans-HELP!

Hi All

I really need some quick help. We are looking to hire someone as a salesperson (of sorts) and need an incentive plan. We currently do not have one (our last one was ineffectual so we ended it).

A search of Amazon.com showed 2 possible books: Compensating the Sales Force: A Practical Guide to Designing Winning Sales Commission Plans and Designing Sales Compensation Plans: An Approach to Developing & Implementing Incentive Plans for Salespeople. The first book is by David Cihelli and he also co-authored the second one with Jerome Colletti.

Does anyone know anything about these books?

Do you have a good book you have used in the past and could recommend?

Do you have a good incentive plan you would like to share?
