How does a rolling 12 month disciplinary procedure work? Is a violation removed 12 month's from the occurence? I'm reviewing our procedure. Looking for suggestions. Thanks Fax 1-440-246-6558 Bob

That's how I view the term "rolling." Our FMLA, attendance, and disciplinary policies are written that way.

By "remove" I assume you mean the document remains in the file but isn't "held against" the employee after the 12 months have passed. That stuff comes in handy later!

Yes, a rolling 12 months is a term used in such disciples as accounting and HR. If you track cost for the rolling 12 months you would only look at the numbers from November 1, 2002 to November 1 2003. If an employee received a warning with a removal provision of the warning following a rolling 12 months it would come out of the file November 1, 2003 if he receved it November 1, 2002.
