ReHire Policy

i have read the Rehire information that has been posted. However, i am interetsed in what criteria other companies use in deciding
1.who to rehire
2.under what circumstances one would be hired back.
3.amount of time before hiring a person back.

we have had a total no rehire policy if you left without notice, etc. however, we are changing this a bit and looking for input.

thanks

  • This is the way I have worded the above subject matter in
    our Employee Manual.

    Former Employees
Depending on the circumstances, XYZ may consider a former
employee for reemployment. Such applicants are subject to XYX's
usual pre-employment procedures. To be considered, an applicant
must have been in good standing at the time of their previous
    termination of employment with XYZ.

    Reinstatement of Benefits (Bridging)
If you were an employee of XYZ with at least twelve (12) months of
continuous employment, and were rehired within twelve (12) months
of your termination date, you will be eligible to continue your
benefits at the level you enjoyed at the time of your termination
    of previous employment with XYZ.
