  • I wasn't sure what type of confidential information you were trying to protect. Below is wording for three types. Hope it's helpful. If you need anything else or have any questions, don't hesitate to call me at 615-371-8200.

    CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

As an employee of the company, you will receive information that is confidential in nature or proprietary to the company, its customers and vendors. You are not to disclose any such information to (a) any other person in the company unless there is a legitimate business reason for doing so, or (b) any person outside the company unless management has expressly stated that the information can be disclosed to that person.

    ETHICS AND CONFLICTS OF INTERESTS

[COMPANY NAME HERE] has always been synonymous with basic, traditional values. We participate in, and believe in, the free enterprise system. We understand that its success depends upon voluntary compliance with the basic tenets of honesty, integrity and personal accountability. Employees need to know that the transactions they participate in must be ethical and within the law, both in letter and in spirit.

We recognize that different companies have different codes of ethics. However, just because a certain action maybe acceptable by others outside of [COMPANY NAME HERE] as “standard practice,” that is by no means sufficient reason to assume that such practice is acceptable at our company. There is no way to develop a comprehensive, detailed set of rules to cover every business situation. The tenants in this policy outline some basic guidelines for ethical behavior at our company. Whenever employees are in doubt, they should consult with their manager. In the final analysis, rules don’t guarantee ethical behavior, people do.

All employees should avoid any situation, which creates or may create a conflict between their personal interests and the interests of the company. Such situations may take many forms including, but not limited to, the acceptance of gifts from vendors or customers of the company and the sale to third parties of any products or materials acquired from the company. You may engage in outside business activities, provided such activities do not adversely affect the company or your job performance. You are prohibited from engaging in financial participation, outside employment or any other business undertaking that is competitive with, or prejudicial to, the best interests of the company.

You are encouraged to seek assistance from your supervisor with any ethical concerns. However, the Company realizes this may not always be possible. As a result, call Human Resources at XXX-XXX-XXXX to report anything that you cannot discuss with your supervisor or that cannot be resolved locally.

    CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

We are required to keep accurate, up-to-date employment records on all employees to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, to keep benefits information up-to-date and to make certain that important company mailings reach you. The company considers this information confidential. It's important for you to inform the company of any necessary updates to your personal file such as a change of address or; marital status. Be sure to inform your supervisor and Human Resources of any outside training, professional certifications, education or any other change in status.
[COMPANY NAME HERE] will only verify dates of employment and job titles to outside agencies inquiring by telephone. No other information will be given out about your employment without written authorization from you, except what is required to comply with the law.
