PT employee automatically becoming FT?

Is anyone aware of whether there is either a federal law or a Pennsylvania state law that dictates something like the following: If a part-time employee works greater than 30 hours per week for 13 consecutive weeks, he/she is considered a full-time employee. (which means they then receive the benefits package of a FT employee)

A couple people around my office have mentioned it, but I cannot seem to find an internal policy that states this, or a federal or state law that states this.

As far as I know, unless state law says something different, each company can decide what constitutes full time and part time employment. As far as benefits are concerned, check your plan docs which will state what qualifies an employee for full/part time benefits.
