Christmas bonus

Could someone weigh in on whether or not Christmas bonuses (assuming cash) are taxable. My recollection is that none-cash items, i.e., turkeys/hams are not, and that small, as in deminimus, cash gifts may not be be. But what about anything else?

You need to be more specific. Items other than those you listed are likely taxable.

The type of bonus or gift I am wondering about would be something like, well let's say $500 in cash.
