"docking" full day for exempt employee / sick day

Can I legally dock the pay of an exempt salaried employee who has used up his sick leave benefit for the year and continues to miss time. I know this is a performance issue which is being addressed, however want to make sure I can do this.
I am in Washington State. Does WA state law supercede Federal FLSA here?

I don't know if WA has a more restrictive law, but probably not. This is what we would do in CA.
