My company operates a facility in Tennessee, however, our payroll is "processed" in California. Being that the work and employees are TN, are we not subject to TN wage laws. California has a rule to pay overtime after 8 hours per day. In TN, we are only obligated to pay overtime after 40 hours in a workweek, correct? Where can I find information on TN payroll laws to express this to upper management. We can save a lot of money. The daily overtime requirement is hurting the budget.

Yes, you are only required to pay overtime after 40 hours and just because your payroll is processed in California you do not have to abide by California's Wage and Hour Law.
