Tardy policy

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 01-28-04 AT 09:23AM (CST)[/font][br][br]We have just implemented a new late policy. Do we need to put this policy in our employee manual? We are implemting the policy to give to all of our supervisors/management so we all follow the same procedure.

I'm sorry I probably was not clear with my first question. What I am really asking is - Yes we do have a tardy policy, but do we need to tell the employee's:

anyone punching in 7 min and before will get pd for the 1/4 hr. 8 mn and over will not get paid for the 1/4 hr. This is the procedure that we are implementing for the SUper/mgmt.

I'm still not clear. . is this a new policy for supervisors management and you are questioning whether or not you inform non supervisors? In general, though I recommend you tell the employees. They need to know the rules if they are going to be held to them. . I

You cannot expect compliance with a rule if the employees don't know the rule exists. I would suggest not only that it go in your ee manual, but before implementation, make sure every ee has a copy.

Am I to understand that your new policy means that an employee who is tardy , say 10 minutes, will not be paid for the 1/4 hour - resulting in 15 minutes without pay? Meaning , in such an example,the employee worked five minutes without pay....Do you want your employees to know this?

Well that is what I was asking. But from what I am hearing yes we should post our policy. Just to let you know we will do the same on the end of the day punches. If someone works 8 min and over we will then pay them for the 1/4 hr.
