Holiday Pay and Overtime Calculation

I know that vacation and sick time paid hours ARE NOT included in the calculation of overtime pay. I came across something that stated (unless I was on drugs!)paid Holiday hours ARE included for the purposes of calculating overtime pay. Is this a Federal mandate? I have a call into the wages and hours local division here in MI. Curious about any thoughts out there!

Federal regulations regarding OT state that OT is to be paid to non-exempt employees for all hours worked over 40. Holiday hours do not HAVE to be counted as time worked for OT calculations, as far as the regs. are concerned.

I don't know about Michigan and am unaware of any Federal mandate. Most places I have worked, it has been defined by CBA or policy. Where I currently work, neither vacation, sick NOR holiday are included in the calculation of OT. 40 hours must be WORKED, period. At my last place of employment there was language in the CBA that said paid leave time and holidays shall be considered hours worked for the purpose of calculating overtime.

Better get to the clinic and do a drop - or check your drugs - holiday pay is not used to calculate o/t. In Mi, like Fed rules, only actual hours worked are used for o/t.
