Pay with debit card

How many of you use a debit card to pay employees? Do they seem to like it? Any complaints? I received some information in the mail and it makes some interesting points about employees with poor credit history being able to use the card, and being able to use the card in lieu of wiring funds (i.e. family members in other countries can be issued a card and withdraw the funds from the same account). I'd like to hear some other opinions before I look into it.

  • My company recently went to this as an option for employees; we set it up through Bank of America; it's called the Visa Cash Pay card. Employees who have been unable to open bank accounts on their own (due to poor histories, etc) have been able to do this and it seems to be gaining in popularity. They pay a minimal account fee eahc month and then can do either ATM withdrawals or use the visa card at point of service terminals (i.e merchants). Saves them the cost of going to those check cashing places.
