Salary Reductions for Demotions Due to Restructure

We just had a restructuring and a reduction in force that resulted in several people being demoted. (None of the demotions were for performance.) As a result, we have several very highly paid individual contributors with significantly less responsibility than before. How do we address salary with these folks? We'd like everyone to stay, but this has created some pay equity issues that we need to resolve.
