Do you guys allow your employees to receive worker's compensation benefits and take sick leave at the same time or do you use sick leave to supplement the worker's compensation benefit?
We run WC concurrent with FMLA but not sick leave. Are you talking about paid sick leave? Why would you want to pay them twice? Our paid sick leave is only for non-work-related injuries/illnesses.
Because we have been doing it wrong for years. My HR Director has been the Director for 25 years. He is leaving and I will be interim. I have been in HR for 14 years and am the HR Manager. This is something that I feel I need to address. Our employees are double dipping by receiving benefits and taking paid sick leave.
Another thing I want to address is that the ex-employees that we have on COBRA, we have been supplementing their premiums. I know that this is incorrect. A lot of things are PRACTICE here but are not correct.
