Does anyone have a policy which allows accumulation of any paid time from year to year? Our CEO has asked for research on the common practices. We are a manufacturer.
I know some school districts allow for sick leave accumulation to a maximum benefit. We have a policy that allows employees who have been with the company over 10 years to rollover 40 or less hours per year to a maximum of 160 hours. These hours are available at any time and are paid out at termination of employment.

We are public sector.
The amount of vacation that may be carried over varies with length of service and ranges from 180 to 532 hours. It is paid out upon termination for anyone with more than six months of service.

52% allow leave rollover with some limitations, and 21% allow it with no limitations.
If you look at the survey results in the Subscribers Area of this website, you can filter the results to just see the answers from people with PTO, or companies your size, etc.
