Don't we all rip into an EOB envelope right away? Wven move it ahead of others, anxious to see what the statement says?
This is a new wrinkle on deception. The ones like the envelopes that look official and notify you that your posters are obsolete and you're going directly to jail.
Today I got an envelope from Forbes. Official looking. Bold print said "Explanation of Benefits" with my name in the window. But, inside was anything but an EOB. It's an invoice for 26 issues of Forbes Magazine for $19.99. It says "You Save $109.75"
It then says "Professional Benefit Price", so I guess that's the explanation of the benefit I would have received for ordering.
