Non-Mandatory Benefit Cost

Does anyone have an approximate percentage of what non-mandatory benefits cost your company? I know from research that it will vary slightly depending on the area of the country but would like to get some sort of feel where others are.
We are in the service arena with approximately
300 EEs.

We pay health and life insurance for the EE. The life insurance runs about 1% of gross payroll (slightly less for the exec's because it has a cap). The health insurance is a fixed price so naturally, the % varies. The range is 5% to 19%. I am excluding holidays, vacation and sick leave. All other benefits are optional and paid for by the EE.

What I meant by non-mandatory was company offered benefits excluding SS, Medicare, Fed and State unemp and Worker's Comp.

I guess it would have been easier to say, what % do you calculate for Paid Leave, Holidays, Retirement and all Insurance including LIfe and Disability. I realize that some of these will vary a % or two but I was just wanting to get a ballpark figure to include in a report I am compiling.

In that case, my range would be 15% to 23%. In our shop, I am counting vacationa and holiday, health insurance and life insurance. We don't get company paid retirement or disability insurance, although those are optional benefits paid for by the EEs.

How's that stack up to you guys?

That's just about where we are. Adding in our retirement and disability and a couple little "off the wall" perks, we have been calculating 25%.
