Christmas Holidays

We normally provide Christmas Eve & Christmas Day for holidays. However, for 2005, they fall on a Sat & Sun. How are other companies handling this? What days are you giving off?

We've made two long weekends: Thursday and Friday, 12/23 and 12/24, and Thursday and Friday, 12/30 and 12/31. We try make long weekends for our employees whenever possible. It's easy for us because we're manufacturing.

we usually give Christmas Day and New Years Day (neither of the "Eve's".) This year we will give Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve instead. I think some companies that usually give Christmas Eve off, are giving employees a "floating Holiday"

For us, the Eve's will be taken on Friday and we are also getting off each of the Mondays for the Christmas Day and New Year's Day holiday. A four-day weekend.

When an observed holiday falls on a Saturday it will be celebrated on the preceding Friday. When an observed holiday falls on a Sunday it will be celebrated on the following Monday.

We're giving Thursday 12/23 & Friday 12/24 as paid holidays for 2005.

We will close at 2pm on the holiday eves and have a floating holiday (to be used within the quarter) for the holiday.
