OTC Medical Items In FSA

We know that over the counter medical items can now be included for reimbursement within a medical flexible spending account. Our administrator has informed us they will only allow what we give them in a list. Has anyone else taken the time to come up with a workable list for those types of items/costs? We could use some help putting together a list that won't be the death of us all!

You are paying your administer to take care of all of the compliance issues regarding FSA accounts so it is THEIR responsibility to reimburse according to the IRS regulations. If our administrator contacted me with this demand, I would remind them that this is what we are paying them for, not the other way around. The new OTC regulations leave quite a bit of "gray" area for interpretation (at least in my reading of them) so since compliance is their responsibility, require them to do it.

Our administrator told us they would reimburse for things they thought were allowed by the new ruling and if we wished to restrict specific things, we would have to send them a listing of those items we didn't want to be reimbursable.
