Health Insurance Benefits

We have a husband and wife who are both employed by our agency. The husband carries their health insurance plan in his name. He has recently used all of his paid leave. Can we require the wife to assume the cost of the insurance premiums and deduct from her pay?

  • I think this question has been addressed before. You should do a search and see what you can find, but I think (and I have a poor memory) the answer was no. You might ask the wife if she would like to do so, but I don't think you can require it.

    Also, if you have your health premiums under a Section 125 plan you can't have it come out of her check even if that is her preference.
