COBRA Notification

I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share the language they use for COBRA notification of a divorced spouse. Also, any advice if sending the notification was overlooked? This should have been done last summer but was not. Should I do it now?

    Yes, you should do it now. Under COBRA, if a plan administrator fails to send a notice in a timely manner, it extends the period of time that a qualified beneficiary has to elect coverage. So the beneficiary's 60 days doesn't start running until the notice goes out.

    Does anyone have language for an addendum to COBRA notices for the new AB1401, Cal COBRA? How are California employers out there addressing this?
