Updates on Military Leave Pay

After 9/11, we updated our Military Leave policy for the reservists who were being called to duty. We have been paying the difference in their regular salary and their millitary pay but stipulated that it would only be for up to one year. We have had many employees leave for their duty and return only to recently be called again. I was just wondering if many companies are paying for more than one year and if so, for how long?

We do not pay for military leave, but I'm curious to know what others do as well, especially because I know this will be coming up more and more.

We do not pay for military leave, but this is the first company I've ever worked for where we did not pay the difference between the individual's company salary and their military pay for a maximum of 15 days.

Currently we allow upto 17 days for training per year. We have had several people called up and our policy is to "make them whole". . we pay the difference between our wage and the military (if there is one) We did not put a time limit on it. Very generous policy that is more than what is required, but this is a big military area.

Just this week, I was asked by our COO to update our policy to pay the difference between their military salary and their current salary at our company. We are a company of about 330 in 9 states. Currently, we have only two individuals who are being called up - one of them a VP.
