Temporary employees on payroll and benefits

We have 4 temporary employees on our payroll doing work for our client. They were hired as temporary, working 40 hours a week.

Are we required to give them the opportunity to enroll in our benefits if they remain with us over 90 days?

We are a Washington business that offers benefits to our Full Time employees.

What do your plan documents say? Usually 401 k's and pension plans have eligibility based on hours worked and it doesn't matter whether the employee's status is temporary. Other plans, such as medical plans, company policies usually determine whether temporary employees are eligible. Just make sure your plan documents state that the employee must have full-time or part-time status to be eligible, not temporary status.

FYI - I would make it my policy not to keep anyone as a temporary for longer than 6 months.
