FMLA and Vacation policy

Good Morning All!
I have an employee who is on FMLA intermittently. He leaves early three days a week for dialysis. Our vacation policy states that the employee must have worked 1800 hours between September 1st and August 31st of the current year to receive vacation pay. This employee will not meet these hours. Since, he is on FMLA do we grant vacation pay although he will not meet the hours?
