FMLA notification of potential qualification

We have an employee approaching her one year anniversary with the company. She has been ill and is working either none or just a few hours per pay period. Are we obligated to tell her that if she works 49 hours by the anniversary date she would qualify for FMLA?

She works at another site and the manager did not report her absences or condition to us until recently(!). I believe he gave her handbook but I have found that folks often don't read the handbook but think someone else will figure out what they need to do. In this case I expect she had her hands full with her home and children and trying to get healthy enough to keep working. Obviously, the manager needs some training.
