FMLA and Point System

An employee on a points attendance program takes three weeks of FMLA. While he is away would you stop the clock in regards to the time needed for the points to drop off? So if the points would of dropped off on September 1 had he not taken the FMLA leave, would the points drop off 21 days later? Or would you drop the points off 9/1?

We have an attendance point system that runs on a rolling year basis. If someone is on FMLA their points drop off just as if they were at work. For instance if they received a point on 10/19/04, on 10/19/05 that point would drop off whether or not they were on FMLA. Remember that you cannot punish someone for being out on FMLA.

Mushroom is correct. Just pretend that FMLA never happened.
