Is it legal to put in my handbook something like "Any leave (except military) in excess of 90 days (12 weeks) will result in termination"?

And what if the company/business decides to grant someone an extended leave of absence, for whatever reason? Does that mean the policy is out the window or does that mean the leave could not be granted.
Having such a policy will get you in more binds than any positive purpose it would serve.
