A reminder, that employees should take care of themselves while off work, so that they don't end up as a WC stat on the job.
One employee, suffering from the flu, almost lost his balance on a ladder - but grabbed a steel bar being welded, the bar came loose, and hit him right in the forehead. We had to take him to the emergency room today, after he was vomitting. Perhaps a real good concussion.
A second employee, suffering from a hernia for who-knows-how-long, finally caved into the pain - and we sent him home. He came back to work on restricted duty, no lifting at all. I asked him why he didn't get it taken care of long ago - his reply was that he was "stubborn".He has yet to get surgery for this.
There is no sick leave at this company.
