Late Notification

Yesterday, Tuesday,I inadvertenly discovered an employee had been out all of last week with neck pain. She just wrote an email to me (she is not at my location) advising me that the doctor wants her to go to physical therapy three mornings a week for 3 weeks and will not be able to get to work until 1:00. Even tho I received the notification late, I'm thinking I should place her on intermittent FMLA leave for the the 9 mornings she will miss. Am I on the right track?
