Annual Recertification for serious health condition

I would like to know if we are required to have associates recertify annually who have submitted fmla papers for a seriour health condition?

No, you are not REQUIRED to ever have certification. If you have enough information to make a decision as to approve or deny leave, you do not need certification. You may CHOOOSE to have your EEs re-certify but it cannot be more often than every 30 days. In our written response we advise that we require re-cert every 6 months and I give them the date that it is due.
