FMLA for Grandchild?

I just had an employee ask if she could have a week or two of personal leave when her daughter has a baby. She went on to tell me that her daughter was 16 and wouldn't know what to do. (No jokes, please.)

I know FMLA does not specifically cover this but I wonder if we'll run into trouble due to the age of her daughter since we do not usually grant personal leaves and this one would cause a hardship in the plant.

I know some of you are experts in this area and will appreciate any input.

Thanks - I did a search after I posted and found that this had been addressed. I spoke to the employee who said her daughter was fine but might need a C-section. I gave her FMLA paperwork and told her that if the doctor said her daughter had a serious health condition she could have FMLA leave.
