We have an employee who has been on FMLA for 4 of 12 weeks. Company wide performance reviews are now taking place. Should this employee be called in for their review?
Is she off for a health condition or due to the birth of a child? If it is for a health condition, I would not recommend it. If she is off due to the birth of a child, you can give her a call to see if she wants to come in. If she does, great. If not, wait until she returns.
We usually do performance appraisals every October 1st and there is always someone out on FMLA or LOA. To keep the process simple, we will have them reviewed when they return, no need to have the employee come in during their leave.
