Approving Leave of Absence for Employees with Second Jobs

We have an employee who is requesting an intermittent leave and has a second job somewhere else. He works afternoon's for us and then goes to his other job for the midnight shift. The manager would like to put him in a part-time afternoon (equivalent) position to help accomodate him so that he won't have to call in as much. Is there anything else we can do? Does it matter that he has another job to go to?
