VT Paid Leave

Vermont Law requires employers to provide unpaid leave. The employee has the option of using earned paid leave as part of his/her parental, family, or short term leave. The decision whether to use paid leave belongs to the employee.

Does this mean the employer (cannot) require the employee to use accruals of sick/personal leave time for family,short-term family or parental leave.

Also, is it required under Vermont Law during, parental,family,or short-term family leave, employers must continue to have employees earn vacation and sick time during these leaves.
