HR Metric

Each department area is working on metrics to support our high level metrics of the company. The owner would like to see me develop a metric that looks at the 'Quality of Hire' that we have here at the company.

Quality in this world would look at 'were they the right fit for the position that they were hired into?' I'm not quite sure how to set up something like that? Do you have any suggestions as to what route to take with that? Or a different metric that you currently use that would be close to the same vein as what I am trying to look at?
