JEVIC Trucking closes in NJ

Perhaps you have heard about this in your area, but they did close yesterday with no notice to their employees! Also, it was stated that their medical insurance benefits terminated at midnight last night. Isn't there a regulation that states an employer must give 60 days notice of a closing when they employ 100 employees or more? Seems really unjust to me. It affects 1,000 workers locally and another 700 nationwide. So sad.

If they can't give 60 days notice, they still have to pay them wages and benefits for 60 days. Let's hope no one has to go to court to collect what is owed to them.
