Online training programs

Are you using online training programs? If so, what e-learning tools have you used and what were the pros and cons?

We used an online training program (geared specifically towards automotive dealerships) which covered FCRA, FACTA, Reg Z, privacy, etc....the pros? It was an extremely informative program that EEs could do at their own pace and tested them on their learning. This helped us to fulfill our privacy plan duties to adequately train and prepare employees for situations regarding these laws. I felt completely comfortable with the level of protection this would give us. The cons? It was WAY too time consuming, and in the end we could not fit this program into our culture.

We have been using online training programs to cover the basic required topics in the banking industry for three of four years now. Pro's - very easy to track to see who is taking the course and easy to "prove" the ee completed the course/or not/or it they made the passing grade. Ability to set different required course work for individual depts and ee's. Eliminates all the meetings that were required to present this material in house. Con's - most everyone tends to wait until the dead line date to complete their required course work. When all is said and done, most of our instructors miss the hands on experience of working with everyone.
