Is it standard practice for corp HR to headhunt?

If yes, how do you go about it. How do you source candidates?

Need to know, being asked to headhunt in addition to our sourcing methods. Thanks

    Sorry but I'm confused by your terminology. We use headhunters for certain positions and they do the sourcing for us. Their method is to work networks of people they know and seek possible candidates for specific disciplines/levels. But I've never done it myself except when I knew a candidate or candidates who would be good for a position we had available.

    Dont mean to confuse. Your right, the expectation is to have my hr reps headhunt themselves. I'm looking for methods to source people since we dont have a database or network of candidates. We need to build it from scratch. Thanks!!
