Can I ask if a new employee applicant has ever been fired or involuntarily terminated from a job? This is for Texas.

We are a Texas Employer and our applications ask that question in form of 'Reason for leaving', opening the door to find out if an applicant has in fact been terminated.

I've worked for several companies in Texas and it's always been appropriate to ask that question. Hope that helps.
