In the sunny state of California, is an HR Generalist generally exempt or non-exempt from overtime?

I am sure you know this, but in the other 49 non-sunny states, the name of the position does not pull any weight, it is the acutal job duties performed. Having said that in the currently cloudy and cold state of Missouri, Yes, those that I am aware of are exempt, if they are the head of the dept.
