Where can I find information regarding unpaid interns in the workplace? I seem to recall someone telling me they are limited in the type of work they can do.

    You might check with your local college's career office. They deal with internships all the time and would probably be able to give you a sense of the scope and limits of what "unpaid interns" can do.

    Everytime I hear the term "unpaid interns" I think of the movie "The Life Aquatic" with Bill Murray. That movie is definitely not a good resource for establishing a solid intern program.

    Hello GA,
    Not knowing what kind of organization you have, but if it is healthcare with accredition, then the intern must go through the same process as a new hire including a job description and a tool to measure their competency. Of course all with supervision. Unless the intern falls under child labor laws, then follow the law.
