Turnover rate

What is considered a reasonable turnover rate for manufacturing industry. We're a retail mail order company that manufactures our own product, but the turnover occurs primarily in the mfg side.

I like to see a total turnover of about 15% and a quit turnover under 5%. Our local Employer's Association survey shows an average of 22% and 10%.

If that is your total turnover, it's pretty good. However, it is good to have SOME turnover.

Here is the formula I use; you can run it for all separations or resignations separately from terminations.

# separations in 12 mos x 100
