Outside company requesting I-9's?

Quick question for you.. we are in southern CA and applying for the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit. I am new here so not real clear on this, however, apparently if we have a certain amount of employees who have had financial aid, been unemployed, had "re-training", etc. we may be eligible for this tax credit. We have an outside company helping us to apply for this credit... They are asking to fax us a couple of our employee's I-9's (they were already out to the plant and had employees complete a brief questionaire). Are we ok in faxing them their I-9's? Just want to make sure... Thanks!

Not only no, but h*ll no! If they want your I-9s, make them give you some legal authority by which they can request it.

I agree with Parabeagle. You might ask them why or by what authority they're asking for such documentation.
