Statutory Employees

I have looked everywhere for a basic answer to the following question: We currently have 'at-home'employees in numerous states. Each time we take on a new employee from a new state, we need to register/license to do business in that state. We are currently looking into Statutory Employee status purely if it would save us this step. We know the type of work qualifies for such, but unless it will allow us the above it is not worth us moving forward with this thought. Might anyone know??
