We are trying to get our hands on a good salary survey for our industry - hazardous waste/ chemical recycling. There are many surveys out there, but I can't seem to find one that would even be "close" to what many of our positions are. Any suggestions?

Professional industry associations often have or provide access to salary survey information.

Also, the BLS website, if you have the time and fortitude to wade through it, may offer some insight as well.

Networking with your counterpart at your competitor may also enable you to simply 'call and ask' for benchmark survey information.

Salary.com provides some survey data free but the best is obtained through a subscription to their CompAnalyst service.

When I recently did our salary survey and comparison, I obtained information on wages in our region from the Kansas state web site. Good Luck!!

We use the Croner Survey- it is very detailed and a bit costly but we have found it to be the most accurate. Try calling them and asking how many compaines in your industry participate.
