bird (or avian) flu

Just out of curiosity (actually I was wondering whether the topic might be worthy of some kind of audio conference), what sort of interest is there out in HR Land on the topic of bird flu (known to the experts as avian flu)and the possible pandemic? It seems like bird flu was all I heard this weekend on TV news and radio. Actually, that statement is a bit of an exaggeration (football games were on as well!), but I still wonder if HR people are wondering how an outbreak would affect their workplace and what they can do to prepare. I'd welcome any comments. Thanks!
