Should our company allow a cancer fundraiser?

We have an employee who wants to put out sponsor forms in the office for a cancer fund raiser. Are they any legal issues that arise in allowing this? If we allow this one, do we have to allow others in the future? The event is not company sponsored.

General rule is "no solicitation". If you say yes to one, how do you say no to another. And, you, also, pave the way for someone to put out forms for Unions.

It's sad but bad. No fundraisers from school, girl scout cookies, Tupperware, unions.

The one way we have found to deal with this is to establish and publicize the fact that the facility supports one fundraiser, such as the nursing home, and we will have an annual drive for that, but for no other purposes will we allow fund raising or postings. No girl scout cookie sales, discontinued the program where the ee's wife made easter baskets and delivered them for a small price, no church bake sales. It is indeed sad what the unions have done to the workplace.
