Electronic Records Retention

I am researching information on electronic records retention or e-evidence for litigation investigations and am curious if any one out there has a policy or standard in place? I'd be curious how the records are obtained and retained (how long). Also, I'm curious how email documents are pulled as discovery - IE: subject header, email text in body etc. Thanks! Mary

    There are many guidelines available on the web...but you also want to check your state regulations...some states are very specific about how long certain records are retained.

    There are also consulting firms that can assist companies in determining what should be saved, in what format, and for how long.
