Succession Planning

Does anyone have a Succession Plan in place that they would be willing to share with me? I work for a small municipality (75 employees) and our Town Manager has requested that I write a Succession Plan. I'm not sure how to go about doing that. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

    Lots of textbook type information out there on this topic. Generally you are identifying key positions and developing a plan to "groom" in house personnel to fill in as the positions become vacated. When you are in a small workforce with a diverse skill set, you will often find yourself identifying positions that take specialized education or experience. Some of these will require a recruitment plan to fill from the outside.

    Our local county government spent a few years and thousands of dollars on this topic - they are the largest employer in the county though - and had the time and the need to do this in depth approach.
