On Call Policy

Does anyone have a service / on call policy that they use for people who must be "on call" over the weekend? I need to create one, oh like yesterday. :-)
Looking for framework/ ideas how you pay them for being on call etc.

  • Most of our employees are not paid for being "on call"...this requirement is considered in the salary established for the position. Basically, they can go about their regular business while on call.

    We do pay for "stand by" time, which requires that the employee be available to work within 20 minutes of receiving a call. The likelihood of getting a call on "stand by" is greater than "on call". We pay 10% of the employee's hourly wage for "stand by" time.
